Want to get involved?
The Sherwood Institute is seeking volunteers to help us gain presence and support through the web. Volunteer support is invaluable to the development of our work. In particular, we are looking to fill the following positions:
- Website/Social Media Volunteer
- Graphics/Marketing Volunteer
- Website/Social Media Development Volunteer
To help spread the word about out work, we would like to keep our website updated and social media outlets active. The web/social media development volunteer would be responsible for:- Updating and maintaining website interface
- Updating web content including project information and news
- Expanding online presence through twitter, facebook, and other outlets
- Researching and developing new ways to promote Sherwood's media presence
- Graphics/Marketing Volunteer
The graphics/marketing volunteer would be responsible for helping Sherwood with material to promote the organization and our mission, vision and projects. The volunteer's work would be used for spreading awareness, recruiting volunteers and donors, and for project proposals. We are also looking to improve the graphics on our website to create a more interactive and user-friendly interface. Proficiency in graphic design programs such as Illustrator and InDesign, as well as good communication skills is required. Interest in water, energy and ecological issues is a plus.
Volunteers may work remotely or work with us in our office, but must be available for a bi-weekly meeting in New York City. Students may earn academic credit for their work.
